Dairy Farmers of America’s Nerd Herd, a team of DFA farmer-owners, engineers, scientists, veterinarians, nutritionists and more, are working to cut greenhouse gas emissions through sustainable dairy farming practices. So, the more you use dairy products from your local DFA-owned brands like the milk and yogurt in this smoothie, the more you’re helping the planet!

We love the kick of flavor the cinnamon gives to this healthy smoothie recipe. The fresh mixed berries shine when they’re blended with ultra-creamy frozen yogurt and whole milk, and the cinnamon rounds out the sweetness of the berries for an easy smoothie recipe that can kickstart or round out your day in style — all in 5 minutes or less!

What makes this smoothie so satisfying:

Made with good-for-you ingredients
Feel good enjoying this mixed berry smoothie knowing that you’re getting essential vitamins and nutrients from berries and real, sustainable dairy, as well as reaping the health benefits of cinnamon, which is thought to reduce inflammation.

The perfect consistency
For optimal smoothie texture, freeze plain yogurt in ice cube trays. Then, add frozen yogurt cubes to your blender when you’re ready to make a smoothie. By freezing the yogurt, you’ll get a thicker, more luxurious texture to your smoothie (Pro tip: Plain yogurt is great, but you can also opt for a plain Greek yogurt for an added protein boost.)

Prevents food waste
Smoothies like this recipe are a great way to use up berries that are almost past their prime. Store berries you know you won’t eat before they go bad, in the freezer. Then, pull them out and toss them in the blender any time you have a smoothie craving.

Uses real, sustainably made dairy
Featuring whole milk and yogurt, this mixed berries and spice smoothie is creamy and delicious because it’s made with real dairy produced sustainably on family dairy farms.

When you’re sipping on this mixed berries and spice smoothie, you can feel good about supporting local dairy farmers and the unmatched nutritional value of real, sustainable dairy, which includes essential vitamins and nutrients.
