Through our DFA Cares Foundation, we are able to provide disaster relief through product and monetary donations, invest in the future of our industry with scholarships to students pursuing careers in dairy, and donate nutritious dairy and food products for those in need.
During times of crisis, like the current COVID-19 outbreak, when schools and other meal services are shut down, the need for reliable, nutritious food is even greater. That’s why DFA is committed to helping where we can through our Farmers Feeding Families Fund, which was created by our family farmer-owners to help meet this increased need.
Ways we are working to deliver nutritious dairy products to families in need include:
— Donating money for dairy purchases to food banks in communities in which we live and work |
— Donating refrigeration to rural food banks across the country to ensure they can offer dairy products to families in need for years to come |
— Donating products such as milk powder to Convoy of Hope, which distributes food to families in need domestically and overseas |
How you can help:
Thanks to a generous donation from some of our dairy farmer-owners, and matched by DFA Cares, we have earmarked funds to use specifically to help get dairy products into food banks across the country, especially rural areas. We are asking our family-farm owners to help us identify rural community food banks in need of funds to purchase dairy products.
Request a donation from the DFA Cares Foundation for your local food bank. Food banks must be registered 501(c)(3) organizations to receive DFA Cares funds.
