Community giving is an essential component of DFA’s values. Through our DFA Cares Foundation, we are able to provide disaster relief through product and monetary donations, and invest in the future of our industry with scholarships to students looking to pursue careers in dairy.
The DFA Cares Foundation was established in 2009 by merging DFA Cares, a nonprofit organization to provide disaster relief to members of the agriculture community, with the DFA Scholarship Program, which provides scholarships to students looking to pursue careers in dairy.
The DFA Cares Foundation enables members and staff to fulfill one of the Cooperative’s core values – community. Employees and members are committed to serving, leading and educating the people in the communities where they live and are connected to the greater agricultural community in which they operate.
Funding for the DFA Cares Foundation comes from a variety of sources including private, public and corporate donations. DFA works with its customers and partners, encouraging them to donate and involve themselves with the DFA Cares Foundation.
