DFA FARMER-OWNER NAMED 2021 FARMER COMMUNICATOR OF THE YEAR
Charles Krause, a DFA family farm-owner in Buffalo, Minn., received the first-ever Farmer Communicator of the Year award in November. The award, given by the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF), honors Charles’s dedication to advocating for the dairy industry in his community and beyond.
Charles milks 300 cows with his son on their fifth-generation dairy farm. When he’s not busy running the daily operations of his dairy farm, you can find Charles teaching children at local schools the basics of dairy farming, writing a column about the importance of dairy dialogue at the United Nations (UN) Food Systems Summit or inviting his local congressman to spend time on his farm.
