CalPro Ingredients … Your Choice in Whey Products
CalPro Ingredients, a division of DFA's Golden Cheese Company of California, is a leading supplier of sophisticated high protein whey protein concentrate (WPC) products for the food, nutritional, pharmaceutical and selected animal feed applications worldwide.

The CalPro product range includes:
Whey Protein Concentrates (WPC).

The liquid whey released from cheese manufacturing contains valuable high-grade proteins. Technological advances over the past decade have allowed these proteins to be recovered from the whey stream, as whey protein concentrates, by a process known as ultra filtration.

High protein WPCs and whey products are used in a wide variety of food applications. Due to the high nutritional value of whey protein, CalPro products are used extensively in nutritional applications.

CalPro WPCs are a protein source in specially designed diets for hospital patients, weight loss/meal replace products, sports beverages, healthy bars and protein supplements. CalPro whey protein concentrates are also used as functional food ingredients. In these applications, the WPC performs a particular function, for example: emulsifying, whipping, binding in a food system, food systems where CalPro WPCs are used as functional ingredients include salad dressings, soups and sauces, baked products, dairy desserts and meat products.

CalPro works closely with individual customers, focusing on long-term relationships and the provision of unique, consistently excellent quality products.

Quality control is important to CalPro's performance. Quality checks are conducted throughout the whey protein concentrate production process. Tests for fat, moisture, ash, protein, sediment, density, minerals and pH are typically conducted on whey protein concentrates. Pathogenic tests are conducted on all finished products.
