Since being named DFA’s president and chief executive officer in 2006, Rick has been instrumental in leading DFA in cultural and operational changes. Rick’s entry in the dairy industry began in 1982, when he joined Dairylea Cooperative Inc. as vice president and general counsel. From 1988 to 2005, he served as the chief executive officer of the Syracuse, N.Y.-based cooperative, which merged with DFA in 2014. Prior to his employment with Dairylea Cooperative Inc., he was a high school teacher and later an attorney with Bond, Schoeneck & King in Syracuse. Rick serves as chairman of the Global Dairy Platform and is a director on the boards of National Milk Producers Federation, National Council of Farmer Cooperatives and the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy. Rick and his wife, Janet, have three children.
