John grew up on a livestock farm near Ash Grove, Mo. He joined Mid-America Dairymen, Inc. in 1983 as a field representative and held various positions within the cooperative, primarily in the area of fluid milk marketing. After Mid-Am merged into DFA, he assumed the position of corporate vice president, marketing/economic analysis. In 2006, John became senior vice president of marketing and industry affairs and in 2010 assumed the role of senior vice president and chief fluid marketing officer. In this position, he oversees DFA’s governmental affairs, regulatory initiatives, economic analysis, trade policy and customer relations. In addition, he maintains material involvement and coordination in fluid milk marketing activities within each of DFA’s seven Areas.
