DFA supports Hunger Action Month

Fundraising efforts generate nearly $15,000 to benefit Feeding America’s hurricane relief efforts, along with more than $50,000 in dairy product donations

In honor of Hunger Action Month, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) members and employees celebrated the company’s core value of community by raising nearly $15,000 to benefit Feeding America’s Hurricane relief efforts. Additionally, several DFA brands are providing donations, totaling more than $50,000 worth of dairy products, to help support hurricane victims in Miami and Houston.

Money was raised through member and employee monetary donations to the DFA Cares Foundation online giving site. The DFA Cares Foundation also made a dollar-for-dollar match for every contribution, up to $5,000.

The roundtable discussion, which was held at Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a national, farmer-owned dairy cooperative located in Kansas City, Kan., gave participants the opportunity to outline the policy issues important to their constituencies, including the upcoming Farm Bill, trade negotiations, agricultural education and higher learning, technology, pesticides, rural jobs and feeding and nutrition programs.

DFA celebrates World Milk Day and June Dairy Month

In honor of June Dairy Month, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) members and employees celebrated the company’s core value of community by donating more than $24,000 to the Great American Milk Drive, which provides milk to local Feeding America food banks across the country. DFA’s donation will provide more than 4,800 gallons of milk to those in need.

DFA unveils new headquarters building

Building pays tribute to the cooperative’s family farmer owners while also creating a modern environment for employees

Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a national farmer-owned dairy cooperative, recently celebrated the opening of its new headquarters building in Kansas City, Kan., with an open house for the Cooperative’s board members, local officials and others represntatives involved with the  design and development. The three-story, 110,000-square-foot building, which was designed by HOK, is located at 1405 N. 98th St. and honors the Cooperative’s dairy farmer members.

DFA urges activist groups to report not record

Today, during Walmart’s Sustainability Milestone Summit, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) joined the retailer and other organizations in announcing our participation in a new platform, Project Gigaton, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our operations and supply chains one gigaton by 2030. Through Project Gigaton, a network of suppliers, companies and non-governmental organizations will submit goals and plans to eliminate one gigaton of emissions, the equivalent of taking more than 211 million passengers vehicles off of U.S. roads and highways for a year.
