DFA Scholarship Foundation
To recognize outstanding students for pursuing careers in the dairy industry, Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. is pleased to offer a scholarship program for college students. DFA recognizes the importance of developing future leaders in the dairy industry, and is committed to investing in their educations.
There are a variety of challenging and rewarding careers in the dairy industry. Are you pursuing a dairy career in one of the following areas?

- Large Animal Veterinary Medicine
- Marketing/Economics/Finance

Scholarships
If you are pursuing one of these dairy careers, you are eligible to apply for one of DFA’s $1,500 scholarships. The number of scholarships will be determined by the number and quality of applicants and available funds.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be pursuing a career in the dairy industry.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a two- or four-year accredited college, university or trade school. High school seniors and post-graduates are also eligible to apply.
Selection Criteria
- Applicant’s commitment and passion to have a career in the dairy industry, and responses to essay questions
- Extracurricular activities, awards, recognition and work experience
- Academic achievement
- Financial need
Application
The 2009 application will be available in the fall of 2008. Applications will be due January 15, 2009 and must include:
- Application
- Most recent high school or college transcript
- Two letters of recommendation from a professor, academic advisor, employer or dairy industry contact
Sponsorships
Dairy industry supporters are invited to join DFA in investing in the future of the dairy industry. Contributions should be made payable to the DFA Scholarship Foundation and mailed with the contribution form below. The Foundation is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service.
