To recognize outstanding students who are pursuing careers in the dairy industry, Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. is pleased to offer a scholarship program for college students. DFA recognizes the importance of developing future leaders in the dairy industry, and is committed to investing in their education.

There are a variety of challenging and rewarding careers in the dairy industry. Are you pursuing a career in any of the following areas?

  • Dairy Herd Management/Production
  • Large Animal Veterinary Medicine
  • Marketing/Economics/Finance
  • Processing/Manufacturing
  • Communications/Journalism

Scholarships

If you are pursuing one of these dairy careers, you are eligible to apply for one of DFA’s scholarships. Last year, DFA awarded $1,500 scholarships to five deserving students.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be pursuing a career in the dairy industry. 
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a two- or four-year accredited college, university or trade school. High school seniors and post-graduates are also eligible to apply.

Selection Criteria

  • Applicant’s commitment and passion to have a career in the dairy industry as demonstrated through responses to essay questions
  • Extracurricular activities, awards, recognition and work experience
  • Academic achievement
  • Letters of recomendation

Sponsorships

Dairy industry supporters are invited to join DFA in investing in the future of the dairy industry. Contributions should be made payable to the DFA Scholarship Foundation and mailed with the contribution form below. The Foundation is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service.
