Cache Valley Dairy Takes to Streets with “Melt Mobile”

July 11, 2012

In celebration of 75 years as a part of the Salt Lake City community, Cache Valley Dairy is hitting the open road this summer and taking its delicious cheese and butter to the people — in the form of a grilled cheese sandwich, that is. This summer, Cache Valley Dairy has introduced an exciting new addition to the community — a food truck, lovingly dubbed the “Melt Mobile.”

“During the past 75 years, Cache Valley has created more than just signature dairy products, we’ve also become woven in the fabric of the community,” said Jen Collins, senior associate brand manager, Cache Valley Dairy. “By launching the Melt Mobile, we hope to be able to connect even more with our neighbors and customers, share our love of dairy, and add to the festivities of summer.”

The Melt Mobile is a food truck that will serve up grilled cheese samples, as well as some old-fashioned fun, throughout Salt Lake City and surrounding communities. The truck will make scheduled stops throughout select summer weekends at community and sporting events, local attractions and grocery stores, as well as some lunch time visits to area business districts. There may even be some surprise stops. In addition to enjoying appetizing grilled cheese samples, visitors can take a commemorative Melt Mobile photo, grab some goodies, and learn more about Cache Valley products and the company’s fight against hunger.

“As a member of the community, it’s important we reach out to help our neighbors in need and hunger is a serious issue impacting Utah families,” Collins said. “To help support the growing number people who are struggling to make ends meet and put food on the table, Cache Valley created Cache Valley Cares — a partnership with Utah Food Bank to help fight hunger.

“It is important to us, however, that Cache Valley Cares represents more than just a donation. We also want to make a difference by helping raise greater awareness of hunger and its impact on people in our community, which we will do as part of our food truck initiative and through our support of the food bank’s summer food drive.”
