Rick was named DFA’s president and chief executive officer in 2006. Since that time, he has focused on enhancing DFA’s culture and improving the Cooperative’s core business of marketing members’ milk, paying a competitive price, demonstrating value and providing leadership. Rick’s entry in the dairy industry began in 1982, when he joined Dairylea Cooperative, Inc., as vice president and general counsel. From 1988 to 2005, he served as the chief executive officer of the Syracuse, New York-based cooperative. Prior to his employment with Dairylea, he was an attorney with Bond, Schoeneck & King in Syracuse, New York. Rick is a director on the boards of National Milk Producers Federation, National Livestock Producers Association, Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy and Global Dairy Platform.

As senior vice president of accounting, Joel is responsible for DFA’s financial reporting, accounting services, credit management, producer services and information systems. Since 1987, Joel has worked for dairy farmers, serving first as corporate controller, then vice president of accounting and analysis for the manufacturing products division of Mid-America Dairymen, Inc. A CPA since 1979, he has held positions as an auditor for Arthur Young & Co. and controller for Color Tile, Inc.

David oversees DFA’s legal department, as well as administration departments, including travel, risk management, corporate office services and meeting services. Prior to joining Mid-America Dairymen, Inc., which merged into DFA in 1998, he operated a private law practice; served as prosecutor for Greene County, Missouri; and worked as vice president of litigation for a Springfield-based insurance company.

Mark joined DFA in 2000 and has responsibility for DFA’s Dairy Food Products division, which includes the Borden® retail cheese business, the Sport Shake branded beverage business and Keller’s Creamery branded butter business. Mark’s responsibility also includes the Formulated Dairy Foods contract manufacturing beverage business, the Dairy Foods Group foodservice, industrial cheese and protein businesses.

A CPA, he joined DFA in 1998 as director of internal audit and in 2001, was promoted to vice president of finance/controller. Jay is responsible for leading DFA’s strategic planning process and supporting DFA’s business leaders in implementing the strategies. He also is charged with guiding DFA’s expanding international activities. Jay has more than 20 years of experience in the global dairy industry and spent more than a decade living and working overseas with leading global dairy companies Campina in Europe and Fonterra Co-opertative Group in New Zealand. He has held senior positions in finance, operations, marketing, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, sales and general management including serving as Fonterra’s chief operating officer and acting chief executive officer.

John grew up on a dairy and livestock farm. He joined Mid-America Dairymen, Inc. in 1983 as a field representative and has held various positions within the Cooperative. After Mid-Am merged into DFA, he assumed the position of corporate vice president, marketing/economic analysis. In 2006, John became senior vice president of marketing and industry affairs. In this position, he oversees DFA’s governmental and public affairs, regulatory initiatives and national milk marketing activities, including customer relations and economic analysis.

David went to work for Dairymen, Inc. in 1978 and the cooperative merged with Mid-America Dairymen, Inc. (Mid-Am) in 1994. He held various positions at the cooperatives, including southern and eastern regional manager. He became vice president and chief operating officer of the Western Area of Mid-Am in 1994. In 1998, after Mid-Am joined with other cooperatives to form DFA, he assumed responsibilities as vice president and chief operating officer of DFA’s Southwest Area.

Randy joined DFA’s predecessor cooperative, Mid-America Dairymen, Inc., in 1986 as corporate director of market analysis. He then became southern division manager of member services and was later promoted to southern division manager. After serving as the chief operating officer for the Southeast Area from 1999-2000, he became the vice president and chief operating officer of the Central Area in 2001.

Dennis assumed the role of Mideast Area chief operating officer in June 2008. He joined DFA in 2007 to bring value to DFA and its membership by identifying, structuring and implementing business opportunities and maintaining direct contact with progressive producers. Dennis has extensive dairy experience as the managing partner of a 5,000-head freestall dairy, manager of a 6,000-head dairy as well as 10 years of banking experience in which he recruited and financed large dairy operations and related agri-businesses.

Glenn assumed the role of chief operating officer of DFA’s Western Area in June 2008. He joined DFA in 2002 as vice president of Italian Cheese Operations and was responsible for operations at DFA’s New Wilmington and West Middlesex, Pennsylvania, and Turlock, California, facilities. Glenn moved to the member side of the business in 2005, when he took on the role of Mideast Area chief operating officer. He previously worked at Campbell Soup Company for more than 10 years.

Brad has served the Northeast Area in a number of positions, including as chief operating officer of both Dairy Marketing Services, LLC (DMS) and Dairylea Cooperative. He played an integral part in the formation of DMS, DFA’s milk marketing joint venture with Dairylea, and has been overseeing its day-to-day operations ever since. Brad entered the dairy industry on the processing side of the business. He worked at Sorrento Cheese and was responsible for purchasing and packaging.

Greg served as the vice president and chief operating officer of DFA’s Mountain Area from 1998 to 2002 and then again from 2004 to the present. During a brief sabbatical from DFA, Greg performed government service for the state of Colorado, serving as the state’s deputy commissioner of agriculture. A native of northern New York, Greg is the former chief executive officer of Western Dairymen Cooperative, Inc., a predecessor of DFA. A 30-year dairy industry veteran, Greg has held positions in quality control, transportation/logistics and milk marketing.
