Dairy Farmer's of America 2007 Annual Meeting
More than 1200 members, employees and industry guests attended the 9th Annual Meeting of Dairy Farmers of America. The meeting’s theme, “Members: Our Foundation. Our Focus,” illustrated the cooperative’s renewed focus on meeting members’ needs.
The two-day event, held March 20-21, in Kansas City, MO featured keynote speaker U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns. The Secretary spoke about the administration’s 2007 Farm Bill proposal, the importance of global agriculture trade on the U.S. and the effects of increased feed costs on the domestic livestock industry, including dairy.
Attendees also heard from DFA’s Board Chairman Tom Camerlo and DFA’s President and Chief Executive Officer Rick Smith.
Other distinguished guest speakers included; Lowell Catlett, dean of the College of Agriculture and Home Economics at New Mexico State University, Jerry Kozak, president and CEO of the National Milk Producers Federation, and Tom Gallagher, chief executive officer at Dairy Management Inc.
The meeting also included a trade show and a special celebration of 150 years of Borden’s products.

The DFACares raffle was a big hit. The DFA´s Young Cooperators sold tickets for this raffle during the three-day event. The proceeds of which go to our DFACares program. We are pleased to announce that we raised $11,455 for this great program. So, thank you to everyone who purchased tickets.
