Our Legislative Voice
When more than 14,000 members of DFA speak through a single, unified voice, legislators listen.
Legislative policy at both the state and federal levels affects the dairy industry.
The legislative team at DFA works to inform members of Congress and their staffs about issues that affect dairy producers. The team also communicates information to members about legislative issues and policy makers to members and their employees through multiple channels, such as the DFA Leader, myDFA and regular Area and national meetings.
Membership in DFA provides dairy producers the opportunity to be personally involved in legislative issues through:
- Town hall meetings
- Contacting representatives through myLegislator
- Visiting with representatives in Washington, D.C.
In addition, DFA members can contribute to the Dairy Educational Political Action Committee (DEPAC). DEPAC allows members to stay up to date on important issues and supports dairy-friendly candidates for federal office.
