Strong Grassroots
DFA is organized as a producer-driven cooperative. The true strength of DFA is its governance system, founded and controlled at the grassroots level.
Accountability for the operations of the cooperative begins at the farm. Members own DFA, and they democratically elect their representatives at every level of the governance structure.
Through delegates, area councils and a corporate board of directors, each and every member has input and power in DFA. This is our strength—dairy farmers across 48 states who see their cooperative as the best opportunity for them to remain independent businessmen and women.
